Honored as TOP CONSULTANT for the fifth time – an independent jury and customers confirm: Siemens Digital Logistics consultants are among the best for small and medium-sized businesses

Siemens Digital Logistics offers award-winning logistics consulting

When business leaders turn to a management consulting firm for support, they want a peer-to-peer relationship with experts – like the consultants at Siemens Digital Logistics GmbH. The supply chain specialist’s consulting arm, with offices in Frankenthal and Karlsruhe, emerged a winner in the TOP CONSULTANT competition by demonstrating the quality of its consulting services for small and medium-sized businesses. That means that Siemens Digital Logistics is entitled, starting on June 19, to display the TOP CONSULTANT seal – the fifth time it has received this honor in five applications. The consultant competition, held each year since 2010, involves a rigorous and in-depth customer survey process.

Professionalism, expertise, and of course customer satisfaction: These are the key criteria in the TOP CONSULTANT survey. WGMB, an association for the study of management and consulting based in Bonn, reviewed the applicants on behalf of compamedia. The structured approach involved surveying the applicants’ reference customers on the following: How professionally did the consultants conduct themselves? How satisfactory were the consulting services? What was the impact of the collaboration? WGMB cites “customer-oriented consulting services focused on the needs of the small and medium-sized business sector” as critical to winning its seal of approval.

Jürgen Schulz, Vice President for Consulting at Siemens Digital Logistics, talked about the award: “To receive this TOP CONSULTANT distinction yet again is a confirmation of the over 30 years of consulting expertise we’ve acquired in the logistics industry, including previously as LOCOM Consulting. The fact that customer satisfaction is one of the award criteria makes it all the more important in our eyes!” Kadir Dindar, CEO of Siemens Digital Logistics, adds: “Our consultants are always focused on the customer and the added value derived by the customer. We are naturally very proud of the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received through this prize, but it also inspires us to reach toward an even higher level of consulting for the benefit of our customers.”

The consultants were evaluated for their expertise, the professionalism of their services, and customer satisfaction by an expert jury headed by Dr. Dietmar Fink, Professor for Management Consulting at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University. The reference customers, small and medium-sized businesses with up to 5,000 employees, completed an in-depth questionnaire and were surveyed on their experience. The logistics consulting team at Siemens Digital Logistics received better-than-average feedback, especially in the criteria of subject matter expertise, methodology, integrity, and customer retention.

German supply chain specialist enhances XCargo, the “pocket calculator for logistics professionals,” with key features for markets in Asia and the Americas

Siemens Digital Logistics Releases XCargo Software for Global Logistics

Siemens Digital Logistics, a provider of software and consulting solutions for the digital supply chain, is releasing the brand-new version 6.1 of the XCargo logistics software on June 2nd, 2020. XCargo offers small and medium-sized businesses with logistical challenges a modular and scalable entry into the world of supply chain planning and optimization. XCargo plugs directly into Microsoft Excel®, so you won’t need to upgrade your IT infrastructure or deal with complicated installation processes.

The new version of the Excel add-in puts usability and internationalization front and center. XCargo now dynamically integrates online map content, eliminating the need to download large map files. Another upshot: Calculations are always based on up-to-date maps – including the latest tolls. By popular demand, version 6.1 lets you run all distance calculations in either kilometers or miles, regardless of the country or continent in question. No need for manual conversions any more.

Kadir Dindar, CEO of Siemens Digital Logistics, spoke about the new version: “Even smaller businesses today serve global markets – with tighter deadlines and greater cost-sensitivity. The logistics factor and the associated costs can give these businesses the decisive competitive edge they need. An affordable modular tool like XCargo gives our customers the option to plan and optimize their supply chain even more efficiently – and now worldwide. That’s a big win, and a big step toward sustainable logistics!”

XCargo, originally developed by LOCOM Software GmbH, has been one of the best-known logistics solutions in the German-speaking world since 2003. XCargo helps logistics service providers and shippers quickly and efficiently calculate transport costs, plan routes, and optimize logistics centers of small to medium complexity. The software includes a comprehensive collection of templates for everyday tasks.
